THE INNOVATION

  • Trailer pushrod and timing reporting
Since going from horse drawn wagons to power driven trucks, brakes on trucks have required the driver or someone to physically go under the truck to take the pushrod measurements, regardless of weather conditions or terrain. This inspection of brakes takes two people, one to crawl around under the truck from brake to brake taking readings, the other to push down on the brake - until now! Our product measures pushrod and timing readings, brake by brake then displays those readings on a screen in the cab or wirelessly to a maintenance facility or both.

Our system also indicates if air values are sequencing properly to provide balanced braking, to maximize stopping power and asist in preventing Jackknifing.

United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) requires trucks to be running with their brakes reading at no less than 20% of the total braking capacity. When an inspector measures a truck’s brakes and the overall brake readings are indeed 20% out-of-adjustment, that truck is immediately placed out of service. The truck cannot leave until the brakes have been adjusted. Being out of service is expensive for the driver, the trucking firm and their client due to potentially hours of down time, which means the truck’s payload may not get to its destination on time.

Our product requires only one person to take the brake push-rod readings. The driver doesn’t have to get out of the cab since the brake readings are electronically read then fed to a screen in the cab where the driver, or maintenance personnel, can easily see the readings of each brake. (see 'Our Product' Link)

NOTE: The system can report the data either to an in cab display, wirelessly to your maintenance facility or both.

Our product will not replace physical brake inspections but will most certainly add to highway safety and reduce the cost of maintaining heavy truck brakes because the operator can periodically inspect his/her brakes without having to crawl under the truck and finding someone to help.
